R.I.P. Garry Shider (1953 – 2010)

Garry “Starchild” Shider, best known for his work as guitarist in Parliament/Funkadelic, died Wednesday (June 16) after battling cancer. He was 56. The “Diaper Man” first recorded with Clinton on the 1971 Funkadelic album “Maggot Brain” and his playing, singing, and writing were crucial to the development of the “P-Funk” sound. Among the songs he has co-written is the classic Funkadelic cut “One Nation Under A Groove.”

Maybe the most influential rapper of all time. He pioneered rap as a member of NWA and founder of Ruthless Records. And nedless to say he is Artificial Songs favorite rapper.
